Sorbents

Our sorbents are made from meltblown polypropylene - also known as MBPP. They are highly adsorbent, thanks to the vast quantity of very small fibres inside a pad, roll, sock, pillow or boom. This allows them to adsorb up to 20 times their own weight. All sorbents are available in various configurations in order to suit every application.

There are 3 main types of sorbents:

The Hazmat sorbent products are yellow. These products are specificvally designed to adsorb aggressive fluids such as acids and bases. Hazmat sorbents are ideall for laboratory use and other areas where aggressive fluids are present.

Hazmat

These products are available in grey colour. They adsorb all types of liquids (both water-based and oil-based). Ideal for use in factories where there are many differen t liquids including cutting fluids, lubricants and coolants.

Universal

Oil Only (industrial)

These products are white. They adsorb all oi-based liquids and repel water. They are unique in the fact that they float on waterand will only absorb the oil. Oil-Only adsorbents are designed to adsorb various oils such as lubricants, fuels, mineral and vegetable oils.

Our range of Oil Only Sorbents which are fine-tuned on the special needs within the maritime and off-shore industries. The products are of course fulfilling regulations such as MARPOL and OPA'90.
